We are very lucky that finally a Canberra is returning to the airshow circuit this year for the first time since 2007. I can't wait to see her in the air again as it's been too long since I've seen a Caneberra fly. Not my images clearly but you can find some images of display practices here. forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopi…
I think a plane ticket would be a less drastic solution. :
I used to see them fly all the time because up until 2006 the Royal Air Force still had them operational. After that we only had one airworthy example, that being this example. plane-crazy.k-hosting.co.uk/Ai… Sadly in 2007 she had a major engine seizure which has grounded her ever since. Apparently she is nearly fixed though so we might have two in the not too distant future. The currently airworthy example was one of the PR.9s that retured in 2006. I got to see her take off last year at RIAT but I am yet to see her display.
Lets just hope the standards of maintenance on that Lightning are higher than those of Thunder City. From what I gather, the accident report after the fatal crash was pretty damning, surprising then that they have been allowed to recommence operations with the Lightning.
