Hind Duo by Valder137 Hind Duo by Valder137
Deep in the Heart of Texas......I found HINDS. Three Mi-24 Hind-Ds, in fact. TWO of which...these two, are airworthy. ;)

it is such a large helo, but it can put out a huge firepower!
A large payload and a large gun count is usualy rare in the world of aircraft. And that is why Russia is here to make that a normal thing

Now that is cool. The Mil Mi-24 has got to be the coolest looking attack/transport helicopter ever built by the Russians. It amazes me that you managed to find 2 of them right here in the U.S.

So they've got a gasket to replace on the oil pan.

i think it was a oil line that needed to be switched out or something. and parts aren't easy lol

Yeah, that is a good point, but then again someone could probably custom fabricate replacement parts.

I think that's exactly what they were waiting for, actually lol. But still, building anything from scratch that will be reliable on an airframe....

interesting picture! from this pov and with so much stuff opened up it is easy to see how the Mi-24 was derived from the Mi-8. whatever the Mi-24 may lack in sophistication it makes up for in beefy menace. 'run away quickly !'

thats actually on my hit list when we go down to Texas this Summer...

really hoping I can time it for a day when they fly. Cold War Air museum or something like that aint it? I know they got the hinds, a few Migs (even a Mig-23), etc

They're only open on Saturdays. Didn't fly when I was there but did some engine runups. They've been flying at airshows recently so used the off weekend for maintenance. I just posted the MiG-23

I'll keep that in mind. I'm sure during the summer they're more likely to fly (well spring too)

and I see that ^^

Those cold war air museum guys should try to pick up a flanker. What do you think of that?

I would donate more to make that happen. Or, really, any Sukhoi. We have MiGs aplenty in the US, so very few Sukhois
